Motor Vehicle Accident

MVA Physio

Physiotherapy is sometimes required post MVA due to injuries sustained in an accident. Our Physiotherapist at Scott St Physiotherapy are experienced in providing care post MVA for a wide range of injuries. Most commonly, people involved in MVAs sustain whiplash, brachial plexopathy, broken bones or dislocations.

Our Physiotherapist can help to diagnose your injuries, provide you with a prognosis (how long you will be sore) and provide a personalised treatment plan to get you back to doing the things you love.

What do I need before my Physiotherapy consultation?

In the event of a motor vehicle accident, your Physiotherapy sessions are paid for by the Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA), but you’ll have to get your affairs on order first…

  1. Review and referral for Physiotherapy by a GP

  2. Submit a MVA claim using the information from your GP

  3. Book an appointment; we can see you before your claim has been approved. However, if your claim is denied, you will be liable to pay for your appointments at our standard rate.

  4. Once your claim is approved, we need your claim number and case managers details.

Do I pay for my Physiotherapy?

You will pay nothing out-of-pocket. MVA fees are set by the government and billed to ICWA.
