Knee Physiotherapy

Knee pain is one of the most common presentations in our clinic. It can affect people of all ages, sporting and non-sporting injuries, traumatic or slow, insidious onset. Our Physiotherapist can help diagnose and treat your knee pain through a tailored rehabilitation program to get you back to doing what you love.

Common knee pain presentations

In the younger population, common presentations include patellofemoral pain, Osgood-Schlatters or Sinding Larsen Johansson syndrome, patella or quads tendinopathies and traumatic injuries like cruciate (ACL or PCL) and collateral (MCL or PCL) ligament sprains and tears. We also see the odd dislocated knee cap every now and then.

In the older population, common presentations are osteoarthritis, meniscus pain and tendinopathies of the hamstrings or quads.

When should I see a Physiotherapist for Knee Pain?

If you have had a traumatic knee injury, we would recommend seeking Physiotherapy as soon as possible to assess your knee. Early rehabilitation and advice can be important to maximising outcomes.

If you’ve had a niggle for a while and it doesn’t seem to be going away or it’s getting worse, this is another good time to seek Physiotherapy.
